Snow Country competed in the 37th anniversary year KAC Cross Country Classic on August 13, 2008.

The 11 member team, consisting of seasoned competitors with a sprinkling of unknown talents, were Phil Bookalil, Adele Fraser, George & Cesia Holowinski, Julie Larcombe, Maxine Morphett, Theresa Ockenden, Warren Stoyles, Debra & Barry Whitton & Ian Woods.

After a blizzard Tuesday and all the lodge members being thrown about by the constant abundant snow falls we awoke to a beautiful sunny day with blue skies. The excitement filled the lodge and the usual questions of what to wear on race day took most of the morning. We all headed off for our race start at 10.45am. Even though the weather was great the track was hard going due to the abundant snow falls. Everyone enjoyed the day and finished the 8km race. The friendship and happiness of all members and non members displayed a true camaraderie and the original ethos of Snow Country prevailed.

Theresa Ockenden - 2nd Womens Classic (45 - 49) group.
